In an effort to create employment and improve the income level of youths, Akwa Ibom government through the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel, turned to large scale cultivation of vegetables including tomatoes, garden eggs and lettuces from farms located in various parts of the state. One of them is the Tomato Green House Plantation to boost large scale production and enterpreneurship, particularly farming adding that growing tomatoes has become a profitable venture. Capitalising on the scarcity of tomatoes which hit the country last year, it has now been tuned into a multi million naira enterprise.
